On The Bench

On the bench is a place where I will be showing current projects and updating them as they progress towards completion. This will allow you to keep track as I work on the piece. The initial page will give the type of piece, specie of wood and approximate dimension.

It will also give you the opportunity to contact me if you are interested in being the new owner when it is complete. General comments would be welcome also.

This should be a fun page and I am looking forward to keeping you, on the bench with me.

Hall or Sofa Table - August 26, 2009

This table will be my first table of this type. The top will feature Curly Maple also know as, Fiddle Back Maple or Tiger Maple. There will be one centerline lamination that will be accented with a Walnut inlay. The apron and tapered legs will be of raw Black Walnut. The finished dimensions will be approximately 48” x 15” x 30”-36”. All of the wood will be solid with no veneer. Here are some photos of the rough top showing the figured grain.
